The History of Tim Hortons Coffee Shops
Tim Hortons, one of Canada’s most famous hockey players, started our company. Tim founded a coffee and donut store in his neighborhood in 1964 with the goal of making a place where anyone could go and feel at home at any time. A spot where neighbors could always come by and where there was always a pot of coffee on (a new pot every 20 minutes to be exact). That one coffee shop grew so popular that more opened in neighborhoods all throughout Canada, then the US, and now sections of the world.

The recipe for Tim Hortons Original hasn’t changed in more than 50 years, and only three people (and we’re not disclosing who!) know it. To make sure that every cup tastes the same, our coffee staff tastes more than 500 cups every day.
